Zach Johnson is an American professional golfer who has 12 victories on the PGA Tour, including two major championships - the 2007 Masters and the 2015 Open Championship. He was born on February 24, 1976, in Iowa City, Iowa and was raised in Cedar Rapids, the eldest of Dave and Julie Johnson's three children.

Johnson took up golf at age 10 and was the number-two golfer on the Regis High School team, leading them to an Iowa 3A state championship in 1992. After graduating high school in 1994, he enrolled at Drake University in Des Moines, where he was the number two player on the Drake golf team and helped lead the Bulldogs to three NCAA regional meets and two Missouri Valley championships. He has represented the United States in five Ryder Cup teams and three Presidents Cup teams. In 2020, Johnson won the prestigious Payne Stewart Award.
