59 meters and 55 meters square on either side, 69 meters straight down the ground. This surface has got a fair bit of rest. It is a good pitch to bat on but on the slower side too since the grass has been shaved quite a bit. It's a little brownish in color. The team batting first should not lose too many wickets in the powerplay. The ball might not come at the pace you expect. In the middle-overs, if you have a set batter, you might be able to post 150 on this wicket. The spinners should get some purchase - there will be turn in the first innings but it should ease out in the second innings.

That concludes our coverage of this contest then. A long break for both these teams but the UP Warriorz and the Gujarat Giants are already in Lucknow trying to get a hang of conditions at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, which will host a WPL match for the very first time. A batter who seems very clear in her head at this point of time. And Shafali Verma has delivered a fantastic performance and a big win for the Delhi Capitals, who have sailed through to the playoffs. They are the first team to do so in each edition of the WPL so far and they will want to top the table again and seal a berth in the final. They now head to Lucknow to play the hosts UP Warriorz on Friday, March 7.

As for RCB, it's been a Bengaluru leg filled with woes. It began alright as they ran Mumbai Indians close before they handed over a match they had no business losing to the UP Warriorz. Post that though, they have been humbled by significant margins and their net run-rate has taken a serious hit too. So much so that they've sunk below the Warriorz to fourth on the table now. The defending champions are hurt but they need to gather themselves now as they head to Lucknow themselves to play the Warriorz next Saturday (March 8). Can a change in venue bring about a turnaround in fortunes as they look to make a late dash for the playoffs? Time will tell!

Shafali Verma (80* off 43) is the Player of the Match. Here's what she has to say: It's a really nice feeling. As a player when you win the match for your side it feels special. Just heard that we are on top of the table too so it feels great. (On her preparation) The first two-three overs I was thinking of taking some time, watching the ball and speak to my partner on how it's playing. We were just focusing on taking as many singles as possible and putting the loose balls away to the boundary. We wanted to react to the ball. I didn't predetermine any shot and that's why the innings went well. If the target was 170-180 we had to hit more in the powerplay. But for this target I thought why not take a bit of time. I just thought it's a small score so let's look to middle the ball. If it was much higher, I would have looked to attack more.

Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals captain): Absolutely (pleased). We wanted to come here tonight and continue the momentum we built last night. Thought it was an excellent performance. Weren't probably at our best in the field but the energy level we brought was outstanding. It was just about starting again and bringing that same energy. It can be easy sometimes to think that it'll just happen if you get on a bit of a roll. We knew we had to be at our best to beat a team like RCB and I'm very proud of our performance. They've all done a great job in taking regular wickets and put the brakes. It's a different person each game which is really helpful - we're not reliant on one or two players which has been the feature of this season. Hope it continues. (On Jonassen at 3) She's done an excellent job. She's taken the pressure off and looked to score as soon as she's come in. That's how we want to play. We'll see how it goes in the next few games but she's doing a great job. Got a couple of days off - it's been a pretty hectic couple of days. It'll be nice to chill for a couple of days and then get to Lucknow for the last game. You don't want to muck around too much and want to keep the momentum going.

It was heartening to see a good chunk of the RCB fans hang around to hear their skipper speak. The team needs all the support they can possibly garner during this difficult time in the season.

Jess Jonassen, Delhi Capitals: (On her batting performance) It was a bit of lesson in slogging to the leg side. In all fairness, it's nice having Shafali at the other end. The right and left combination worked well, didn't allow the RCB bowlers to settle on that line. They sort of erred bowling to me at times, slightly shorter side as well. Glad I was able to capitalize. Having Shafali at the other end, having bowled equally I knew there was going to be a bit of shape early. Wicket was holding a fraction, knew we just had to keep playing nice and straight and not panic. We knew we were behind the first few overs, but we got a decent over and got level with RCB with where they were in the end of their powerplay. (On Shafali) She's kept reminding her to keep being smart. She kept reminding me to go straight, that was my job for her. She's a quality ball-striker, and she picks the deliveries to go after well. She did that well tonight, which is nice. We're building perfectly, started rusty on our own admission. Tonight was challenging having to back up from last night, we're probably a bit sloppier on the field, thankfully it didn't cost us tonight. Our bowlers did really well in the middle and at the back end. Charani coming in on debut, bowled exceptionally well tonight. Great to see people on the sidelines get that opportunity and do well. We're in a nice spot, looking forward to a long break before our next match. (On Charani) She's got incredible control and the way she got the ball to turn tonight. She is unflappable, bowls with a good trajectory, and is still working on her craft.

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain): Pez batted really well for us to get to 145-odd. We could have gotten a better start from me. Still feel 145 was a good effort. Wicket did play on the slower side a little, fourth match on it, we could have adapted better to it, but we couldn't. (On thoughts of retiring Raghvi Bist out) Not really, Raghvi is a 20-year-old, she tried her best, we did not think of that. You send your hitters on this wicket. We backed Raghvi to go for sixes, the way she ended her innings was better for her. Renuka has been brilliant throughout the six matches, she's bowled the tough powerplay overs for us. Hope we can back her better. We all have a week off before the next match. Lot of reflection for sure. That's how cricket is. Hard one for the fans, they came out in large numbers to support us. Hope we can put up a better performance next week. All we can say is sorry to the crowd, couldn't win a home match. Got to keep it in the past. Huge thanks to the crowd for coming out in numbers, they're still chanting RCB in the stands. Hope we can give them something better in the next two matches.

Dominant, destructive and devastating. The Delhi Capitals have turned in a second clinic in as many days to send a warning shot to the rest of the competition. And they are officially the first team through to the playoffs of WPL 2025 with a game still left in their kitty of round-robin matches. A comprehensive victory set up by the bowlers who restricted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 147/5 before their top-order did the needful.

Renuka Singh Thakur got the new ball to hoop around viciously off the seam, keeping skipper Meg Lanning in check. Lanning tried her best to break free but perished in the process and with just five runs coming off the first three overs, it seemed as though RCB would be onto something. But Shafali Verma doused those hopes with a typically dominant counter-punch, putting away anything loose with ease. The Capitals ended the powerplay with 40 runs to their credit with Jess Jonassen playing the ideal foil having been promoted to number 3 again.

Thereafter though, the runs kept coming at both ends. Jonassen took a liking to countryman Ellyse Perry while Shafali continued to play the big shots, often using her supple wrists to great effect. RCB's fielders were made to dive around in vain and their spinners - barring Georgia Wareham - were way off their radar. The lack of enough runs to play with told on the bowlers as they simply did not keep it tight enough. Both Shafali and Jonassen duly cashed in, racing along to rapid half-centuries and putting the outcome of the game beyond doubt.

It was then a question of when and not if. And as it turned out, they got the job done halfway through the 16th over. RCB seemed to have given up well in advance to the extent that Raghvi Bist rolled her arm over for some dibbly-dobbly medium pace. And it was a rank full toss from Sneh Rana that was slogged over short fine leg to bring the curtains down on another one-sided display of dominance from the Capitals, who are truly peaking at the right time in the tournament. A dampener to end an entertaining Bengaluru leg but one that has given us our first team in the playoffs - the Capitals are through yet again!

Yet another delivery that sums up the evening! Delhi Capitals are officially the first team through to the playoffs of WPL 2025 as RCB end the Bengaluru leg with zero wins to their credit!
