Since 2024 on an average, 24 sixes have been hit per game. Last game 30 sixes, 528 runs were scored. Well the surprising bit is that the ground isn't that small. If you look at the dimensions, on my right it's 69 metres and to my left is 67 metres. Straight down is 79 metres and it's equidistant (75 metres) to either side of covers and midwicket for a right hander. It's a fresh pitch. The last game was on the other one which had more grass. Obviously this pitch is barren, it does not have a blade of grass on it. Sounds very firm, when you look at the good length area at either ends, it's a little abrasive. You can see the mosaic pattern, little bit of cracks. I am not saying the cracks would open up, it's still a very good pitch to bat on but just have a feeling that once that ball gets a little older, it might be a little slower onto the bat even though this is a red soil pitch. There will be bounce, there will be carry but it might just be a little slower once the ball gets older. Now as far as dew is concerned, there wasn't any in the last game. Don't expect it to be here tonight either. So batting first, pile up those runs and that would be an advantage for sure. Plenty of runs to be scored, no two ways about it. Last season, couple of times the pitch was used and all four innings teams scored in excess of 200. We should expect a score crossing 200 but maybe not 300 yet.
