Alexsandro “Poatan” Pereira is a Brazilian MMA fighter competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He competes in the UFC light heavyweight division and is the current champion of the division. He is also ranked No. 2 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. Besides being a successful mixed martial artist, Pereira has also been a former kickboxer who won two glory belts at the same time in middleweight (2017) with five successful defenses and light heavyweight (2021).
Born on July 7, 1987, in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Alex Pereira made his UFC debut at UFC 268 against Andreas Michailidis on November 6, 2021. He won the fight through a TKO in Round 2. Since then, he has been a former UFC middleweight champion and 5-time winner of the Performance of the Night.
