Brock Purdy Injury History

American football quarterback Brock Purdy plays for the San Francisco 49ers as of September 2024. He was a seventh-round pick (262nd overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. Purdy started five games in his rookie year appearing in and finishing with a 5-0 record. He completed 114 passes for 1,374 yards in 2022. Purdy was named as the starter of the 49ers the following year. Appearing in all 16 regular games, Purdy had a record of 12-4. He also led the league with 9.6 passing yards per attempt (Y/A) and a 113 Passer rating. In his two years in the NFL, Purdy has also appeared in two Super Bowls with a record for 4-2 in the playoffs. Purdy also made it to the Pro Bowl in 2023.

Growing up in Arizona, Purdy attended Perry High School. He was a three-star recruit by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN and was also ranked as the 24th-best pro-style QB nationally by 247Sports. Purdy was also named the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017. Purdy committed to Iowa State University in 2018. He completed his college career with 48 appearances completing 993 passes for 12,170 yards and 81 touchdowns. He was named as the Big 12 Sportsman of the Year (2022), First Team All-Big 12 – Coaches (2020); AP (2021) and Second Team All-Big 12 – Coaches (2019, 2021) over four years.

Brock Purdy Injury History

Brock Purdy had a rough season in terms of injury despite his impressive 12-4 run in 2023. He sustained three different injuries throughout the season. His luck with injuries didn't grow as he also picked up an injury in September 2024. He also damaged both his legs during his college time, however, continued to play through the injury.

Major Injuries Sustained by Brock Purdy

Arm Elbow Tear (2023)

During the NFC Championship game against the Eagles, Purdy left for a short while but came back to finish the game. The following day, he was diagnosed with a torn UCL.

Head Cranial Concussion Grade 1 (2023)

Brock Purdy showed signs of a concussion during the 49ers' flight after their Week 7 loss to the Vikings. He was able to participate in Week 8 after clearing the NFL concussion protocol.

Cervical Neck Stinger (2023)

Due to a neck pain, Purdy departed the game in the fourth quarter of Week 16 against the Ravens. The next week he came back to play.

Back Injury (2024)

Prior to Week 4's 49ers against the Patriots, Purdy battled a back issue. Following an MRI that revealed no problems, the 49ers declared Purdy to be "day-to-day" due to the injury.
