Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Cameron Amir Sutton in the third round (94th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He stood out at the Senior Bowl as a versatile player willing to play cornerback and safety. He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $3.2 million. Sutton played the role of backup cornerback in his rookie year appearing in five games.

Sutton had a few successive seasons with the Steelers reaching the playoffs in 2020 and 2021. Sutton signed a three-year contract worth $33 million with the Detroit Lions. It includes $22.5 million guaranteed and a $10.9 million signing bonus as well. Sutton appeared in all 17 games of the first regular season with the Lions. Moreover, he recorded a career-high of 65 total tackles. He’s played both of the postseason games this season. He also recorded three tackles, two solo against Tampa Bay in the 2023 NFC divisional round.

Sutton grew up in Jonesboro and attended the local high school. He attended the University of Tennessee for college. Sutton Graduated with a degree in Communication Studies in December 2016. He had a successful college career and was also the nation's top punt return average (18.7). Moreover, Sutton became Tennessee's all-time leader in pass-defended with 37 passes defended (30 pass breakups and seven interceptions) at the end of his career in 2016.
