When we take a look back at the names of the players that have risen up in the NFL recently the name Chase Young certainly is one of them. He was born in Upper Marlboro, Maryland on April 14, 1999, As of now he is 24 years old. Chase first stepped into the NFL at the young age of 21 and since then he has shown no signs of slowing down and has elevated his career to a whole new level. Before Young’s journey into the NFL began he used to play college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. He received athletic scholarships from over 40 different universities but ultimately Young decided to go with the Ohio State University. After a successful run in his college career, Young announced that he would not be participating in his senior year in 2020 and declared him for the upcoming draft on NFL 2020.

Coming into the NFL after a successful college career and with fantastic physical attributes, Young was seen as a rare combination of strength and skill. Chase Young’s Jersey Number

Young wears jersey number 99 in the NFL. He is a professional American footballer who plays as a defensive end for the New Orleans Saints. Young's professional career in the NFL began in 2020 when he was chosen in the draft of NFL 2020 by the Washington Redskins. Chase Young has worn two different jersey numbers in his NFL career: No. 99 with the Washington Commanders and No. 92 with the San Francisco 49ers. Currently, both of these numbers are taken by other players—Khalen Saunders and Tanoh Kpassagnon, respectively. Before turning professional, Young wore No. 2 at Ohio State, a number that is still available.

Young after being selected by the Washington Redskins signed a deal with them of worth $34.56 million for five years. In the 2020 season in a match against the Philadelphia Eagles, he made his NFL debut where in the following match he recorded 1.5 sacks, four tackles, and a forced fumble. Young made an NFL franchise record when he recorded a sack, two passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble and a touchdown in a single game against the San Francisco 49ers. Young continued his excellent performance throughout the season and he finished his debut season with Washington Redskins with 7.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.

After having a successful debut season in 2020, Young's 2021 season was cut short because of a knee injury that he suffered during a match against Tampa Bay Buccaneers and due to the following injury Young had undergone surgery. Young was not fully physically healthy to be a part of the early matches of the 2022 season but he returned from his injury in a match against the San Francisco 49ers. He returned in Week 16 but was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2023, where he recorded 2.5 sacks and had a sack in Super Bowl LVIII. In 2024, he signed with the New Orleans Saints but underwent neck surgery and was placed on the PUP list.
