C.J. Stroud is one of the top quarterbacks going into this year’s NFL Draft. Many have touted him to be selected in the top 2 in a quarterback-heavy draft class. The 21-year-old Sophomore from Rancho Cucamonga, California has caught the eye of several NFL coaches, analysts and scouts over the past few years.
The two-time Heisman Trophy finalist has an impeccable record for the Ohio State Buckeyes and has set many records for them over the years. Now, Stroud looks to transition to the NFL and showcase his abilities to any franchise that takes him.
NFL teams that are in desperate need of a starting quarterback would surely not want to pass up on the opportunity to sign Stroud. Stroud brings astonishing accuracy and a deep ball threat to the game. Throwing in tight windows even several yards down the field is a strength of his game. There is little doubt to suggest that C.J. Stroud will not deliver for any team that requires his services.
C.J. Stroud’s S2 Cognition Test Results
The S2 Cognition test is a fairly new test that is taking over the league. It is coined as a replacement for the Wonderlic test as it is supposedly a step up from the flawed Wonderlic. Anyway, as per the leaked scores of the S2 Cognitive test, there has been a frenzy going around the media. While C.J. Stroud is considered one of the top 2 quarterbacks in this draft class, his IQ test results paint a different picture. According to the results, Stroud only managed to score 18% (out of 100%) which was the lowest score. Other quarterbacks fared much better, especially Bryce Young who scored 98.
When questioned about his low test score, C.J. Stroud went on record to say: “I’m not a test taker…I play football”.
C.J. Stroud’s RAS Score
RAS, short for Relative Athletic Score, is another metric used by teams to evaluate the top college prospects of the NFL Draft. This method takes into effect a draft prospect’s NFL Combine measurables - height, weight, wingspan, hand size, athletics and drill results and churns out a single number on a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being the highest. RAS only takes into account the physical aspect of the game, hence it is not the final say on selection matters.
Stroud’s exact RAS score is not available as he did not take part in the athletic section of the NFL Combine, yet it is believed to be around the range of 5.52. At 6 foot 3 inches, 214 lbs, with 10-inch hand size and 32 5/8" arm size, Stroud's measurements put him around the threshold.
