Cook has also received a citation for mistreating three pit bull puppies between the ages of two and eight months. The dogs had no shelter and were chained up tightly. The two-month-old puppies were choking on the chains because they were so hefty and prevented the dogs from moving. Cook refused to provide identification when asked for it, so the on-scene animal control officer sent in a law enforcement officer to help identify Cook.

In November 2021, Cook was also accused of assault by his former girlfriend. She stated that Cook caused a concussion to her due to assault and battery. The investigations are ongoing and Dalvin Cook has denied any of the accusations made towards him.
