DeVonta Smith is an American professional football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles selected Smith as the 10th pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. After recording more than 900 receiving yards in his rookie season, Smith would go on to record two 1000-yard seasons, as per Pro Football Reference. According to Spotrac, he signed a three-year $75 million contract extension with the team in 2024.
Smith went to Amite High Magnet School in Amite City, Louisiana, where he played basketball, football, and track and field. He chose to attend the University of Alabama to play collegiate football. His remarkable performance during the 2020 season earned him the Heisman Trophy, making him the first wide receiver to win the award since 1991. Before joining the Eagles as the tenth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Smith also secured CFP National Championships twice with Alabama.
