DeVonta Smith is an American football wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 NFL season. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted him with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. By the end of the 2024 regular season, DeVonta Smith has 308 receptions, 4,011 receiving yards, and 27 touchdowns in his NFL career (via Pro Football Reference). Smith was born on November 14th, 1998, in Amite City, Louisiana, where he spent the vast majority of his childhood and started off his football career at Amite High Magnet School.

After finishing high school, he committed to playing high school football at the University of Alabama to play collegiate football. In the 2018 college football playoff national championship game against Georgia, Smith's only catch resulted in a game-winning 41-yard touchdown in overtime 26-23 victory, as per AL. In 2020, he won the CFB National Championship, CFP national championship offensive MVP, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, Fred Biletnikoff Award, Paul Hornung Award, and being named the AP College Football Player of the Year, as per Alabama Crimson Tide's official website. Nicknamed the “Slim Reaper”, he was a consensus All-American and also won the 2020 Heisman Trophy.
