Where did Dre Greenlaw go to college?
Dre Greenlaw

Ke’Aundre J’Quan ‘‘Dre’’ Greenlaw is an American football linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). He has been a key part of a defensive unit that has ranked near no.1 in the NFL and has made 4 NFC Championship game appearances in the last 5 seasons, including a visit to the Superbowl, in which the 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs ( Super Bowl 54). Even in the loss, Greenlaw showed that he wasn’t fazed by the bright lights, as he recorded 4 tackles - an almost perfect end to a brilliant rookie campaign, in which he recorded 1 sack, 1 interception, 3 tackles for loss and 92 combined tackles, on the way to getting nominated to the 2019 PWFA All-Rookie Team. He continued to produce in his next 4 seasons in the NFL, recording a total of 3 interceptions, 14 pass deflections, 3.5 sacks, 18 TFLs and 446 combined tackles as of the 2023 NFL season.

Greenlaw was born in Conway, Arkansas on May 25, 1997, and is 26 years old as of January 2024. He faced a hard childhood, having spent time in group homes and shelters before being officially adopted by his high school’s defensive coach, Brian Early & his family. His football journey began at Fayetteville Public Schools, where he led the football team to consecutive 7A state championships.

Dre Greenlaw College

Dre Greenlaw attended the University of Arkansas from 2015-2018. He played for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference (SEC). Greenlaw chose Arkansas over offers from major programs like Georgia, Washington State and others - continuing to play within his home state.

Emerging as a hard nosed linebacker prospect in his 4 years with the Razorbacks, Greenlaw had to face powerhouse teams with explosive offenses in the SEC. Throughout his 4 years he recorded 4 sacks, 3 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 3 pass deflections and 321 tackles with the team. Following his senior year in 2018, Greenlaw declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Dre Greenlaw Draft

The San Francisco 49ers selected Dre Greenlaw in the fifth round with the 148th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Greenlaw was unable to fully participate in the NFL Combine and full workouts due to a hamstring injury, but still showed impressive potential. He measured up at 6ft tall and weighed 237 lbs with 32-inch hands. He also recorded a 33-inch vertical jump and bench pressed 225 lbs for 24 reps. However, Greenlaw was still picked relatively late in the draft and labelled as a backup caliber talent by draft experts. But, defying expectations and helping continue the 49ers production line of finding key talent in the later rounds of the draft, Greenlaw began starting games for the 49ers immediately in his rookie season and hasn’t looked back since.

Post the end of his rookie deal with the 49ers, Greenlaw signed a two-year, $16.4 million contract extension with the 49ers, which will keep him with the team until the end of the 2024 NFL season.
