George Karlaftis is an American defensive end for the Kansas City Chiefs as of the 2024 NFL season. He was drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft the 30th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. Karlaftis is a two-time Super Bowl Champion and was also honoured with a spot on the 2022 PFWA All-Rookie Team. As of January 2025, he has posted 115 combo tackles, including 68 solo tackles and 24.5 sacks (via ESPN).

Karlaftis went to Purdue University and played collegiate football for the Purdue Boilermakers. Over his three-year collegiate career, he recorded 99 tackles, 14.5 sacks and four passes defended in 27 games as per Sports Reference. He secured a spot on the Second-Team All-Big Ten both in 2019 and 2020 and was named a First-Team All-American in 2021. Karlaftis played high school football at West Lafayette High School and finished his senior campaign with 106 tackles, including 56 for loss and 17.5 sacks according to the Purdue website.
