The Minnesota Vikings' safety, Harrison Smith, was born on February 2, 1989. Being an Augusta, Georgia, native, she went to Knoxville Catholic High School in Tennessee and was named the 2006 Gatorade Football Player of the Year. He was a multi-sport athlete, participating in track events and basketball as well, winning state titles. Harrison, a four-star prospect, opted for the University of Notre Dame in 2007-2011. His time with the Fighting Irish was exceptional, in spite of the fact that he redshirted his rookie season.

Harrison was selected by the Minnesota Vikings as the overall 29th pick at the 2012 NFL Draft and in his debut season, he was named for the PFWA All-Rookie Team and first-team All-Pro. The following season, he was named for the second-team All-Pro. Further, he was named for the Pro Bowl six times, five being consecutive, from 2015 to 2019 and 2021. Throughout 13 seasons with the Vikings, he has appeared in 177 games, starting 176, and recorded 1,046 combined tackles, 19.5 sacks, 87 passed deflections, 35 interceptions, four touchdowns and 12 forced fumbles, as of September 2024.
