Miami Dolphins Introduce Cornerback Jalen Ramsey

Jalen Ramsey is an American professional football player for the NFL team named Miami Dolphins. He was born on October 24, 1994, in Smyrna, Tennessee. He is known to be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL and strikes fear in the best receivers. He played offense and defense at high school, making him widely sought after by colleges and scouts. After completing his high school education, Jalen Ramsey committed to play collegiate football at Florida State University. He was named an All-American, received All-ACC honors and was a finalist for the much coveted Jim Thorpe Award.

Jalen Ramsey was drafted as the 5th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for the Jaguars for a period of 4 years during which he was named to the All-Rookie Team and made the NFL’s Top 100 List twice. He also received All-Pro honors and made two Pro Bowl appearances. Following an altercation with the coach in 2019, Jalen Ramsey was traded to the Los Angeles Rams towards the end of the 2019 season. In spite of being traded so late into the season, Ramsey received a Pro Bowl nomination and made it to the NFL Top 100 List. Over the next few seasons, Ramsey solidified his position as the best cornerback in the league, achieving two more Pro Bowl appearances, two more All-Pro honors and two appearances in the NFL Top 100 List. After missing the 2022 season due to injury, Ramsey signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2023.

Which High School Did Jalen Ramsey Go To?

Jalen Ramsey attended high school at Ensworth High School for 1 year before transferring to Brentwood Academy. What is most interesting about Ramsey’s high school career was that he was a two-sport athlete in football and track and field. He was impeccable at both sports, receiving multiple honors and breaking records in the sports he played. At Brentwood, Ramsey played the positions of wide receiver and cornerback.

Ramsey’s scouting report suggested that while he lacked the size for his position, his length and agility were used well to break passes and cover long distances. He was known to be very instinctual and had a knack for breaking up offensive plays. By the end of his high school career, Ramsey was recognized as a 5-star recruit.

It will be interesting to see how the Dolphins fare in the upcoming NFL season after having developed a strong offense and defense. Their defense could potentially be one of the most terrifying with receivers like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and a strong tight end in Mike Gesicki. The addition of Jalen Ramsey to a defense manned by Xavien Howard, Terron Armstead and Bradley Chubb among others, makes the Dolphins set to make a deep playoff run.
