Jaylon Johnson is a cornerback playing American football in the NFL for the Chicago Bears franchise. Johnson is considered to be one of the top-quality corners in the game today and has been quite productive over his four years in Chicago, especially during the 2023 season. Drafted in the second round with pick number 50 overall of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Bears, Johnson has earned himself a new contract that will keep him in the city.

A native of Fresno, California, Johnson was born on April 19, 1999. He attended Central High School in his native city of Fresno where he played both football and basketball. He would then go on to play collegiate football at the University of Utah on the Utah Utes football team where he was named a two-time First-team All-Pac-12 member in 2018 and 2019.

Johnson is an intelligent defender who can play well in both Man and Zone defenses. He has an amazing ability to read the play and to cover his man or area with perfection. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that he is one of the lockdown corners in the game today. The Bears have recognized his value to the team and have rewarded him with a new contract before he hit free agency.
