The two-time Pro Bowler Jonathan Allen is an American football player who plays as a defensive tackle for the Washington Commanders. He began his NFL career after being selected by the Commanders with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft and has remained with the team since. In 2021, he signed a four-year contract extension valued at $72 million. Over his seven-season NFL career as of the 2023 season, he has tallied a total of 382 tackles and 39 sacks, earning Pro Bowl selections in both 2021 and 2022.

Allen played football at the University of Alabama during his college years, competing with the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2013 to 2016. During his time at Alabama, his impressive performance earned him several accolades. The list includes the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, Ted Hendricks Award, Lombardi Award, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and unanimous All-American honors in 2016. He was also named to the First-team All-SEC three times from 2014 to 2016. Before committing to Alabama, he played at Stone Bridge High School during his high school years.
