Joshua Hines-Allen is an American football defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. The Jaguars drafted Hines-Allen with the 7th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Hines-Allen started four games in his rookie season, while recording 11 sacks, 44 tackles and two forced fumbles and was named to the Pro Bowl and the PFWA All-Rookie Team. In 2020, prior to being placed on the injured reserve, Hines-Allen recorded three sacks and 13 tackles. The following season was Hines-Allen’s best season to date with eight sacks, 71 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception. In 2022, The Jaguars exercised the fifth-year option on Hines-Allen’s contract. The subsequent 2023 NFL season, Hines-Allen was named to the 2023 Pro Bowl. On 10th April, 2024, Hines-Allen extended his contract for five years with the Jaguars.

Hines-Allen committed to the University of Kentucky for his collegiate football career. Hines-Allen, a two-star prospect, was under the radar of Rutgers University due to his high school senior status. Despite leading New Jersey in sacks, he was not offered a scholarship or scholarship by any other NCAA Division I school. At Kentucky, he received first-team All-SEC and unanimous All-American honours in 2018. He also won the Chuck Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Lott Trophy, Jack Lambert Trphy and was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year as well. Prior to college, Hines-Allen played high school football at Montclair High School in New Jersey.
