What is Justin Fields' jersey number?

Justin Fields wears jersey number 2 with the Pittsburgh Steelers as of October 2024. He had to switch his number from one which he has worn all his career as Steelers don’t give out the number 1 jersey to avoid prioritising players. Former kicker Gary Anderson was the only Steeler to wear number one in the regular season since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, however, players have occasionally been given the number one jersey during training camp and the preseason when clubs are short on players.

Fields wore the number one jersey for three years with the Bears since his draft in 2021. Fields was wearing the number one jersey in his high school days in Georgia. He also carried the same number to college when he committed to college and then to Ohio in 2019. Fields fills in the shoes of players like Mason Rudolph who has the number 2 for Steelers previously.
