The Los Angeles Rams are a team from the NFC Conference and belong to the NFC West division. They play their home games in the newly opened state-of-the-art SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California. The Rams lock horns with the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks within their division two times per year.

The Super Bowl LVI champions have a long history with the city as they first relocated from Cleveland in 1956 and played there till 1979. After relocating two more times to Oakland and St. Louis, the Rams came back to the West Coast in 2016. After having a great 2021 NFL season where they lifted the Lombardi Trophy, last year was a complete disaster. But with key players coming back from injury, the Rams will look to quickly bounce back in 2023.

Who is the Rams mascot Rampage

Rampage is the official mascot for the Los Angeles Rams football team. He is an anthropomorphic ram and was first introduced in the 2010 NFL season. Prior to Rampage, the team had experimented with a few mascots on and off but for the most part, none of their initial mascots lasted for a long duration.

There was a brief period in the Rams' recent history when the team was going through a bit of a lean patch during the 2005 to 2010 seasons and that is when they decided to try something different to get the fans excited. Introducing a mascot was the way to go forward and this time it worked like a charm as Rampage was a hit amongst the crowd.

Ironically though, when Rampage made his first public appearance it wasn’t with the Rams who at the time were the St. Louis Rams and played their home games in the midwestern state of Missouri. Rampage’s first appearance came at the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game where he was even given the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch. He is also the first sports mascot to receive a star on the ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’, but there is confusion regarding whether it was temporary or actually permanent.

Rampage merchandise

With his gaining popularity, the Rams made a ton of merchandise out of him such as stuffed toys, hats, Christmas decorations, bobbleheads, 3D puzzles, statues, yard inflatables, a Lego set and more. Interestingly, the Rams mascot even has a children’s book called ‘Ride with Rampage’. Another claim to fame for Rampage is that he was one of the handful few mascots to have been featured in the Madden NFL game, Madden 12.

Rams mascot Rampage salary

As Rampage is one of the newer mascots in the league, his salary may be around $50,000. The average mascot salary in the league is between $50,000 to $60,000 annually. The salary may vary with experience or the popularity of a specific mascot. Some mascots do earn a little higher amount depending on their deal with the franchise while some are paid a little less than the average.

Apart from the annual salary, attending various events such as wedding parties, birthdays, corporate events, school visits, etc. also adds a sizable income to the mascot's earnings which are over and above their salary.
