The Los Angeles Rams schedule came out on 15th May along with 31 other teams. The Sean McVay-Matthew Stafford era has seen its ups and downs, but a ring from the 2021 season proves that they have got what it takes to win it all. After falling to Detroit in the wildcard round last season, Rams would be eager to go further in the playoffs in 2024.

The Rams team which was filled with rookies left and right last year still managed to find a way to reach the playoffs. The team led by Stafford exceeded all expectations by finishing second in NFC West with 14 rookies on the roster to start the year. However, they got a major setback in the offseason when future HOFer Aaron Donald decided to hang up his shoes.

Stafford already turned 36 in February and is in the twilight of his career. Every year with Stafford at the helm is a super bowl or bust for the Rams after they made a huge blockbuster deal with the Lions to get him back in 2021.

In the upcoming season, Rams would not be in cap hell like last year where they carried $75 million in dead money. Even the salary cap went up by $30 million for the upcoming season.

The Los Angeles Rams schedule is right in the middle when it comes to the difficulty level. They would be going up against the AFC East and NFC North eight times in 2024. Let’s look at some of the exciting matchups that will decide the fate of the Rams.

Week 1 - September 8, 2024 - Los Angeles Rams @ Detroit Lions

This opening Sunday Night Football matchup will be a rematch of the previous season’s NFC Wild Card round, in which the Lions edged out the Rams 24-23. The Lions will begin the season as one of the contenders, so it will be a great way to measure for the Rams as to where they stand.

However, revenge will also be on LA’s mind. Furthermore, this matchup will be yet another duel between Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford who were exchanged by the two teams back in 2021.

Week 3 - September 22, 2024 - Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers

The Rams are going to face their arch rivals 49ers in their home opener. This will be a second straight divisional game on the Los Angeles Rams schedule after facing Cardinals in week 2. There is no sugarcoating this matchup. If the Rams have any ambition of winning the division, it starts right here. In the last seven years, both these teams have combined for six division titles between them. Both their coaches know the ins and outs of each other. Week 4 - September 29, 2024 - Los Angeles Rams @ Chicago Bears

This matchup will feature an age gap of 14 years between two starting quarterbacks. The Bears will be entering the season with a rookie QB and new offensive coordinator. It will be a rough first few weeks for both offensive players and coaches as it takes time for them to gel. Rams are lucky to get them in the early part of the season when Bears would still be in an adjustment period.

Week 11 - November 17, 2024 - Los Angeles Rams @ New England Patriots

If the game was played on paper, this would have been an easy dub for the Rams as there is a massive gap in talent level between these two teams. Patriots are in an early stage of a rebuild after parting ways with Bill Belichick while the Sean McVay led squad has Lombardi aspirations. It will be interesting to watch who the Patriots starting quarterback will be during this time.

According to many experts, they have to redshirt Drake Maye for the upcoming season and that’s why they got an experienced campaigner in Jacoby Brissett. If the Patriots are in the mix of playoffs, it would be Brissett who would get a start. But will Jared Mayo give Drake Maye a chance if the Patriots are practically out of the playoff contention remains to be seen?

Week 12 - November 24, 2024 - Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles

This game will be one of the most important ones on the Los Angeles Rams schedule when it comes to playoff seedings. Along with the Lions, 49ers and Cowboys, Eagles are also one of the contenders in the NFC.

This matchup will go a long way in deciding who would get home field advantage going into playoffs if both these teams were to win their respective divisions. This primetime game will be aired on NBC/Peacock.
