Nate Wiggins is an American football player who plays the position of cornerback. In 2023, Wiggins played his third year of college football and has now declared for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. The 6-foot 2-inch corner was born in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, on August 28, 2003, which is where he completed his early education.

Wiggins whose draft stock has been rising, is considered to be one of the best corners in the 2024 draft class. PFF has listed him as the second-best corner in the class behind Cooper DeJean and could be a top-15 selection on the big day. Wiggins, who was at the NFL Combine just a few days ago, seemed extremely confident in his ability and made it clear to everyone watching that he is a lockdown corner.

The amazing aspect of Wiggins in the draft is that he is just 20 years old as of March 2024, and yet he is still considered one of the top corners. With a good height for his position, he will do well to keep most NFL wide receivers at bay and coupled with his incredible speed, Wiggins should be able to translate his college performance to the next level.

Adding to his physical gifts are his great ball skills and reaction speed. He has good instincts in coverage and can make up ground quickly if needed. While there are things he will need to work on once he gets to the NFL, Wiggins should be a great asset for whichever team drafts him.

Nate Wiggins College

Nate Wiggins entered collegiate football when he joined Clemson University in 2021. Unfortunately, though, his college career did not get off to the type of start that he would have wanted. Coming out of high school he still lacked some maturity and this led to a bitter relationship with his coach.

In his freshman season, Wiggins received limited play time and finished the year with three tackles and three pass breakups. During the offseason after his freshman year, Wiggins cleaned up his act and matured quickly knowing that he needed to become more serious for his future of football was at stake.

This proved to be a good decision as Wiggins saw much more playing time that directly resulted in significant contributions to the team. His sophomore season in 2022 saw him register 22 tackles, a blocked field goal, a highlight 98-yard interception which he took all the way to the house, and most important of all, a team-high 12 pass breakups.

The Atlanta native started the new 2023 season exactly where he left off the previous year. In 10 games he had 25 tackles and once again led the team with 9 pass breakups. Moreover, he added one sack and two interceptions out of which he returned one for another touchdown, and two forced fumbles as well. For his outstanding performances throughout the season, he earned a First-team All-ACC selection for 2023.
