The 2021 NFL Draft was held on the 29th of April 2021 and finished on the 1st of May 2021. The 2021 NFL Draft class was quite a unique draft class as it was one of the rare drafts to have featured quarterbacks with the top three picks. The 2021 NFL Draft was the 86th such edition to have taken place.
The NFL Draft has traditionally been held on the last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in April. Thursday is uniquely allotted for the first round while the second and third rounds are on Friday, and the fourth to seventh rounds are on Saturday. To be eligible for the NFL Draft, a player must either be redshirt sophomore, junior, or senior. Any player who has declared for the draft is no longer allowed to go back and play college football.
The first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft was quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who led the charge for the quarterbacks as he was immediately followed by Zach Wilson and Trey Lance. However, all three signal callers are still to find postseason success in the NFL with Lawrence being the only one to have reached the playoffs with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
