Bosa is a member of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round with the second overall pick. He one-bettered his brother Joey Bosa who was selected third overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Before the draft, Bosa was expected to be selected as the number one overall pick by a majority of scouts and analysts, but the Arizona Cardinals who held the top spot decided to draft a quarterback instead and went with Kyler Murray.

The 2019 NFL Draft also boasts of other quality players such as defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, wide receivers Deebo Samuel, A. J. Brown, and DK Metcalf, running back Miles Sanders amongst others.

Nick Bosa College

Bosa decided to attend Ohio State University where he played on the Ohio State Buckeyes football team after an amazing high school career where Bosa was rated as a five-star recruit along with being named as one of the best players in the class.

Even as a true freshman, Bosa received quite a bit of playing time and in 13 games he had 29 tackles. Seven of those tackles were for a loss of yardage. He also got to the quarterback often and registered five sacks.

The next year in 2017 which was his sophomore year, Bosa became the starting defensive end for seven of the fourteen games. Of his 34 total tackles that year, 16 of them were for a loss of yards while he also put up 8.5 sacks, forced a fumble, and deflected two passes.

As a junior in 2018, Bosa played in 3 games and had 14 tackles (6 for loss), 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 touchdown. Unfortunately, though, he underwent core muscle surgery which ruled him out for the rest of the season. After the season, he decided to enter the 2019 NFL Draft and forgo his senior year of college.

Bosa’s impact on the NFL is there for everyone to see. Having been drafted in 2019, he was immediately given the starting role and he has not let his team down. In fact, after registering 47 tackles, 16 of them for a loss of yards, and 9 sacks from 16 games as well as one interception, 2 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries in his rookie season, Nick Bosa won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.

2020 was a terrible year for the younger Bosa as he was ruled out for the season after just 2 games following a torn ACL injury. However, he came back stronger in 2021 and has been a menace on the field. Averaging around 50-odd tackles a year, he led the league in tackles for loss with 21 in 2021 and led the league in sacks in 2022 with 18.5.
