Odell Beckham Jr. is a professional American football player in the NFL, playing with the Miami Dolphins as of 2024. Born on November 5, 1992, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Beckham is one of the best receivers in the league. Beckham was drafted as the number 12 pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft by the New York Giants. He played his collegiate football at LSU from 2011 to 2013 en route to being named to the First-team All-SEC and First-team All-American in his junior year. Following a temporary absence from his rookie season due to injury, Beckham quickly established himself as a superb receiver when he was fit. As a rookie in the NFL, he set numerous records and developed into a serious offensive threat. In each of his first three seasons in the NFL, Beckham Jr. was selected for the Pro Bowl. Beckham joined the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 midway through the regular season, and he was essential to the team's victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

In the upcoming 2024-25 NFL season, Beckham will be a part of an all-star wide receiver room featuring Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as a member of the Miami Dolphins. His addition would significantly open up offensive options for the team and would give the Dolphins signal caller Tua Tagovailoa another weapon as they look to progress further than the Wild Card round of the playoffs this year.

Odell Beckham Jr. will play the 2024-25 NFL season with his fifth team - the Miami Dolphins. With an already impressive wide receivers room with Hill and Waddle, OBJ will also join a high-flying offensive unit consisting of Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane in the backfield.

Previously, he has played for 4 teams across his NFL career so far. Being drafted by the New York Giants, Beckham later moved to play for the Cleveland Browns. Midway through the 2021 season, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, a move that won him a Super Bowl as he contributed significantly by catching passes from Matthew Stafford and playing second fiddle to Cooper Kupp.

For the 2023-24 NFL season, Beckham played for the Baltimore Ravens. Teaming up with the 2-time NFL MVP in Lamar Jackson, Beckham led the receivers room with rookie Zay Flowers, and exceptional tight end Mark Andrews to become a potent offensive attack. With an impressive defense to match the offense, the Ravens were one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LVIII but fell short in the AFC Championship round.

What does signing Odell Beckham Jr. mean to the Dolphins

The biggest concern for the Dolphins from the previous years has been their inability to make deep playoff runs even with a first-string quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa at the helm. In spite of having a star-studded offensive unit and quality players on the defense, the Dolphins once again fell short in the Wild Card round in the 2023 season.

Beckham's signing by the Dolphins ensures another veteran leader in the team. Although his best years may be behind him, OBJ is still capable of putting in some memorable performances on his day. Furthermore, it adds depth to the receiver room as that is one position that sees several injuries over the course of the season.
