Ray Davis is an American football running back for the Buffalo Bills as of the 2024 NFL season. The Buffalo Bills selected him as the 128th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He played for the Kentucky Wildcats in 2023. He chose to play for the Wildcats in his final year of eligibility transferring from Commodores. Davis started his college career at Temple Owls in 2019 where he played 16 games rushing for 1244 yards and scoring 11 total touchdowns. He was also named first-team Freshman All-American by PFF. David had five 100-yard games during his time at Vanderbilt. Moreover, he earned fourth-team All-Southeastern Conference honors.

After shifting to Kentucky in 2023, he ran for 112 yards and scored two touchdowns on his debut. He has started all five games he has been a part of scoring 17 touchdowns till now. Growing up in San Francisco he spent a hard time around foster care. He attended the Trinity-Pawling School in New York after spending a year at Blair Academy. Davis, in his one year, put an impressive number at Blair, running for 1,698 yards and scoring 35 touchdowns in just eight games. At the end of his high school career, he recorded 80 tackles and six interceptions on defense in addition to 4,815 yards and 48 touchdowns scored on offense.

Ray Davis was born to Jessica Blazer and Raymond Davis in San Francisco, California. They were absent from his childhood mainly because of legal issues. He was periodically housed by other family members, but nothing was long-term. Davis stayed in a homeless shelter for two months, when he was 12 years of age. He was also placed in the California foster care system at the age of eight. According to theathletic.com, both of his biological parents were in and out of the prison and Davis reached out to his favorite teacher, Ben Klaus, and stayed with him for three years.

Raymond Davis is Ray Davis' father. He was initially absent from Davis’ life. Around the time Davis was looking for foster care, Raymond was putting his life back together. He is Galileo High School Sports Hall of Famer who leads OJ Simpson in single-season touchdowns and spent a year trying to rebuild his relationship with his son.

Jessica Blazer is Ray Davis' mother. According to theathletic.com, Davis initially lived with his mother, Jessica, for a while but she left, so Davis stayed with his grandmother and slept on her living room floor. Jessica was 14 years old when she first got pregnant and 15 when she gave birth. Instead of holding any resentment against his mother, Davis understood his mother's circumstances and simply said "She wasn't ready."

Ray Davis was raised by Lora Banks and Greg Ley since the age of 15. He still refers to her as his mom and is a huge part of the family. She also helped Davis get into Trinity-Pawling School, an all-boys boarding school.
