Tristan Wirfs is a professional American football offensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. The Buccaneers drafted Wirfs as their 13th pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Wirfs attended Mount Vernon High School, where he began his football career. As a senior in high school, he was named District offensive line MVP and Class 2A Iowa Preps Offensive Lineman of the Year. Wirfs was rated as a four-star recruit and was named to the Des Moines Register Elite all-state team the same year due to his amazing performances. Wirfs began his collegiate career with the Univerisity of Iowa in 2017.
As a freshman in 2017, Wirfs played in seven games as a freshman and became the first true freshman to start at either offensive tackle position. Due to his amazing performance, he received a Big Ten Conference All-Freshman team mention from BTN.com, as well as the team's Next Man In award on offense. As a sophomore in 2018, Wirfs played in 12 games and was named to their All-Big Ten by both league coaches and media.
