The franchise was founded in 1932, and Josh Harris owns the team. After moving to Washington, D.C., they changed their name from the Boston Braves to the Washington Redskins. In 2022, they changed their name to Commanders, and they play their home games at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
