When is Round 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft?

It’s almost time. The 2024 NFL Draft is here. The preparations have begun. The college athletes are raring to go. This three-day annual event is one of the most exciting times of the year for both the teams and the players.

Teams will be gearing up to pick players that will go on to be the face of the franchise in the upcoming years and help the team lift the Lombardi Trophy. The fans are excited to see which college stars get picked by their favorite teams. And the players, ofcourse, get to fulfill their dream.

This time the draft is headed to Detroit. Round 1 will begin on Thursday, 25 April at 8 PM Eastern Time. And set the tone ready for the next day.

What time will Round 3 of the NFL Draft begin?

Round 3 will be happening on the Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft on Friday, 26 April. Round 3 of the NFL Draft will begin at 7 PM Eastern Time on Day 2 with the Round 2 selection happening first.

Round 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft will begin from the 65th pick through 96th pick. There will be two rounds taking place on Day 2 - Round 2 and 3. Round 2 selection starts from 33rd pick to the 64th pick. Along with the 64 regular picks that happen on Day 2, there will also be seven compensatory picks.

Teams will have five minutes to make a selection in Round 3 of the NFL draft. This is much less when compared to seven minutes for Round 2 and 10 minutes for Round 1.

Teams usually capitalize on Round 3 picks to fix the holes in the roster. The talent among these picks remains high. The round 3 picks include players who’s draft stock could’ve dropped from being a potential first round or second round pick. Irrespective of that, when teams find the right fit, these players flourish and find immense success.

Teams with salary cap issues and even teams who have different game plans will be looking to trade down or up for the players who they feel will be perfect in their system.
