Joey Porter Jr. was born in Bakersfield, California on 26 July 2000 to Joey Porter Sr. and Christy Porter. Porter Jr. is a cornerback for the Penn State college football team. Starting out as a cornerback and wide receiver in high school, Joey transitioned to a full-time cornerback and has turned out to be a physically dominant player in his position.
Porter Jr. has great athletic ability. At 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 mts), he has good height and arm length to be able to disrupt a pass. His lack of speed and upper body strength is made up for by his quick thinking and route running. He always seems to be running with the receiver in great positions. While he needs to work out some flaws in his game, there is every possibility that Joey will get selected somewhere in the top 20 in the draft. An aspect of his game which he has improved but still needs to work on is grabbing the receiver.
Ever since Joey was a young boy, he has known the ins and outs of this game as his father was also an NFL player. The time spent with football back then has helped him know what the system is all about and how to prepare for the biggest moments. He is here to make a name for himself and not to live in his father’s shadow.
