Mark Sinclair, professionally known as Vin Diesel, is an American actor, producer, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles in the Fast and the Furious film series, where he portrayed the character of Dominic Toretto.

He has also appeared in several other films such as xXx, Pitch Black, and The Chronicles of Riddick. In addition to his acting career, he is also the founder of the production company One Race Films. Diesel has received numerous awards and nominations for his work in the film industry.

Vin Diesel was born in Alameda County, California, USA and was raised by his astrologer/psychologist mother and adoptive father, and has never met his biological father. Diesel attended Hunter College in New York City, but dropped out after only three years to pursue a career in acting.

Diesel began his acting career by performing in Off-Broadway theater productions in New York City. He was inspired to pursue a career in acting after watching a performance of "Grietas" in the early 1990s. He made his feature film debut in the 1995 short film "Multi-Facial," which he wrote, directed, and starred in. The film was well received and was selected for screening at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. This exposure led to Diesel getting more acting opportunities, including his break-out role as the character of Riddick in the science fiction film "Pitch Black." From there, he went on to star in several other successful films, including the Fast and the Furious franchise.
