Channing Matthew Tatum is an American actor who was born on 26 April 1980. Tatum is the son of Glenn and Kay Tatum. While his parents are in two different fields career-wise, he chose to be an actor and was successful at it in no time. After doing many odd jobs and being a male stripper at a club, Tatum shifted to Miami, where he was discovered by a model talent scout.

Tatum’s first work was as a dancer in Rick Martin’s music video “She Bangs”. He then went on to enter the fashion industry, began as a model, and worked with brands such as Armani and Abercrombie & Fitch. Tatum’s debut movie was released in 2006. He starred alongside Amanda Bynes in the 2006 starrer film She’s The Man.

As mentioned above, Channing Tatum is 6 feet 1 inches tall. Speaking more about his physical appearance, Tatum is one of the heartthrobs of Hollywood. He has been a part of the industry for over 17 years now. While Tatum now weighs around 89 kg, in 2014, Tatum had put on some unwanted weight. However, the actor worked really hard to make sure that he shed that weight before the Magic Mike sequel.

The actor was last seen in the 2023 film Magic Mike’s Last Dance. Just like his previous films, Channing Tatum made sure to maintain his chiselled body for the film. Tatum was seen reprising his role as Mike Lane in the film and was paired alongside Salma Hayek.

Yes, Channing Tatum was a stripper before he entered the industry. For the unversed, out of many odd jobs, Tatum had also worked as a male stripper during his teenage years. He went by the name 'Chan Crawford' and he used to earn $50 a night plus tips. The now-successful Hollywood actor never refrained from accepting that he was a male stripper before finding his success. Nor does the actor plan to hide this reality from his daughter Everly.

Earlier in January, Channing Tatum revealed that he would break the fact that he was a stripper to his daughter, Everly when she would be ready to hear it. As per People, Tatum said, "When she's old enough to watch them, we'll have that conversation.”

The actor also said, "There's no version of me not having the conversation of 'Dad didn't just do them in movies, I was an actual stripper,' so I'm not gonna lie to her.” Many might be unaware that the film Magic Mike starring Channing Tatum was inspired by his experience as a stripper.
