Nathan Fillion, born on March 27, 1971, is an actor from Canada and the United States. He is known for playing Captain Malcolm Mal Reynolds in the show Firefly and its follow-up movie Serenity, as well as Richard Castle in the TV series Castle. Since 2018, he's been acting as John Nolan in The Rookie and even works behind the scenes as an executive producer for the show and its spin-off The Rookie: Feds. He's also getting ready to take on the role of Guy Gardner/Green Lantern in the DC Universe directed by James Gunn. He had previously provided the voice for Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in animated DC Comics projects.

Fillion has been part of different types of movies, from traditional releases like Slither and Trucker to ones distributed over the internet like Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. He's appeared in soap operas, sitcoms, and theater, and you can hear his voice in animations and video games like the Halo series and Destiny games. He's also contributed his voice to characters like M.O.D.O.K.
