Diana Lorena Taurasi was born on June 11, 1982, in Glendale, California in the United States. She is an American professional basketball player and a point guard for Phoenix Mercury. She was the first overall pick by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2004 WNBA draft.

Kobe Bryant gave Diana Taurasi the moniker “White Mamba”. She witnessed many victories and achieved many accolades including the 2003 USBWA Women's National Player of the Year, the Naismith College Player of the Year in both 2003 and 2004, the 2003 and 2004 NCAA Tournament MOP, the three-time NCAA Champion in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Diana Taurasi and her team were the champions of the WNBA Championship in 2007, 2009, and 2014 and received the WNBA Finals MVP in 2009 and 2014. Taurasi also won the 2004 WNBA Rookie of the Year. Taurasi played overseas in the EuroLeague Championship, the Russian National League, and the Turkish National League and won many championships.
