Skylar Diggins-Smith is a veteran point guard in the WNBA who plays for the Seattle Storm. She was born on August 2, 1990, in South Bend, Indiana, U.S. Smith's basketball journey began at Washington High School, where she showcased her skills before making a significant impact in college with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. During college at Notre Dame, Diggins-Smith was the main factor in guiding the team to three consecutive Final Four appearances and reaching the NCAA championship game twice. As a result, Smith became the recipient of the prestigious Nancy Lieberman Award which was given to the best point guard in the country.

In the 2013 WNBA draft, Smith was selected by the Tulsa Shock, marking the beginning of her professional career. In her rookie season, she got some vital minutes to play and averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game. The following year was a breakthrough for her, as she earned a starting spot in the 2014 WNBA All-Star game. Over the years, Smith has become a six-time WNBA All-Star and has earned four-time selections to the WNBA First Team. In the 2024 season, Smith averaged 15.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. in the first half of the season wearing the Seattle Storm uniform.
