Jalen Alexander Hurts is an American football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles selected Hurts as the 53rd pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. At the latter stages of his rookie season in 2020, after Carson Wentz's play had deteriorated, he took over as the team's starting quarterback. From that point on, he was the starting quarterback. During the 2022–2023 season, he guided the Eagles to the playoffs and ultimately to the Super Bowl, where they were defeated by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. In the 2024 season, Hurts led the Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LIX against the Chiefs.

Hurts attended Channelview High School in Texas, where he excelled as a dual-threat quarterback, throwing for 2,384 yards and 26 touchdowns while rushing for 1,391 yards and 25 scores as a senior. As a junior, he passed for 2,545 yards and 21 touchdowns, adding 951 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. During his collegiate career at Alabama and Oklahoma, Hurts totaled 9,477 passing yards and 80 touchdowns along with 3,274 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns.
