Cole Hagen is a college football player for the BYU Cougars football team, representing Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He joined the BYU Cougars football team in 2023 after being committed to the Yale Bulldogs football team, representing Yale University, in 2020. Upon completing high school at Corner Canyon High School, he committed to Yale but did not end up playing a single game and decided to transfer to BYU in 2023. In 2024, he was redshirted as a freshman.

While yet to play in college football matches, Cole Hagen has an impressive high school football record. As a senior in 2019, he passed for 3,655 yards and 43 touchdowns, leading the Chargers to an undefeated 14-0 season and a 6A state championship.

He was named the 2019-20 Utah Gatorade Player of the Year for his outstanding performance on the field.
