Jacob Porter is an American football linebacker currently plying his trade with the Temple Owls representing Temple University. He kick-started his high school football career at the North Allegheny High School where he was rated a consensus three-star recruit by ESPN. As a senior, he played as a defensive end and registered 37 tackles including nine sacks. Porter also had six tackles for loss as well as a fumble recovery. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker embarked on his collegiate football journey with the Temple Owls over offers from Akron, Bucknell, Colorado State, Yale, and Penn State among others.
As a true freshman in 2022 with the Owls, Porter saw action in four games as the backup linebacker and managed to play only the final four games of the season. He witnessed his first game in action against USF. He redshirted his freshman season and participated in the pre-season camp with the Owls in 2023. After just over one calendar year with the Temple Owls, Porter decided to leave the program but was ineligible to transfer to any other school due to his late decision.
