Nate Johnson is a college football quarterback currently playing for the Vanderbilt Commodores, representing Vanderbilt University. Johnson previously played for the Utah Utes football team from 2022-2023 before joining the Vanderbilt Commodores in 2024. After completing his studies at Clovis High School, Johnson was rated as a four-star recruit and chose to take his college football career forward with the Utah Utes.

In his debut against Arizona, Johnson rushed three times for 23 yards and two touchdowns. In 2022, he concluded his first-ever season with the Utes with five carries for 51 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing for a touchdown in three games. During the 2023 season, Johnson played in seven games, going 39-of-72 passing (3TD) for 499 yards, adding 58 rushes for 232 yards and four touchdowns.

In a standout performance, Johnson went 13-of-21 passing for 193 yards (61.9%) with one passing touchdown and 16 carries for 71 yards and a rushing score. His 193 passing yards in that game were the most by a Utah freshman quarterback since 2012.

Throughout his high school career, Nate Johnson received numerous accolades including being named TRAC Offensive Player of the Year in his first season as a starting quarterback in 2020 and CIF Central Section Athlete of the Year in 2020-21 for his achievements in football.
