Joaquín Niemann, born on November 7, 1998, is a professional golfer from Chile. Joaquín has achieved significant success on the PGA Tour, bagging two victories. His initial triumph occurred in 2019 at the A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, where he dominated with rounds of 65, 62, 68, and 64, ultimately winning by a substantial six-stroke margin. His second PGA Tour win took place at the 2022 Genesis Invitational at Riviera.

In 2022, Joaquín became part of the LIV Golf organization. Despite starting as the top-ranked amateur globally in 2017-18, he swiftly transitioned to the professional level and quickly ascended in the sport.

As of April 2022, he had accumulated an impressive count of nine triumphs across different international tours and was positioned 15th in the worldwide rankings. In the 2022 LIV Golf Invitational Series, Joaquín also demonstrated his skill by achieving commendable rankings within the top five in Boston, Bangkok, and Jeddah. Alongside this, he clinched the seventh spot in the Individual Champion points standings throughout the series.

But behind all these successes and glory days, his parents should be thanked for being his constant support and devoted fans. Joaquín’s dad introduced him to the game of golf. He gifted young Joaquín a set of plastic clubs at the age of 2 and helped him learn the game at the Club de Polo y Equitación San Cristóbal, Chile.

Joaquín Niemann was born on November 7, 1998, to Chilean parents Jorge Niemann (father) and Pamela Zenteno (mother). He was born into a family of athletic brilliance. Joaquin's father Jorge, is a basketball player, and his mother, Pamela, used to play hockey for Chile's national hockey team.

Drawing from a foundation of sporting prowess, Joaquín Niemann's innate abilities and diligent efforts on the golf course swiftly started generating noteworthy outcomes. Jorge Niemann is Joaquín Niemann's father. He, too, happens to be a fellow athlete. He used to play basketball. Jorge was the one who introduced young Joaquín to the game of golf. He used to take Joaquín to the Club de Polo y Equitacion San Cristobal to practice when he was just two years old.

Jorge always had Joaquín 's back, especially when times were rough when Joaquín decided to shift to LIV golf from PGA. Though Joaquín was faced with several criticisms, Jorge was by his side. He spoke up for his son, and tried defending him. He posted on his Facebook account which he titled "Joaco & the LIV series”.

His posting read: “Joaco always made great and good decisions that at the time, in the eyes of others, were not. At 12 he left normal school to devote himself 100% to golf, many of his relatives saw it as a pleasure, an error and a whim. Time has spoken and a South American champion has established himself in pre-juvenile, junior, world champion and has won numerous tournaments in Latin America and the USA. And he was the top 1 in the amateur world.”

He continued, “As a father, I will always continue to support him in everything he does and I hope he will be very happy in this new stage”.

Finally he approves, before concluding with a confession: “Finally no one goes to LIV, LIV Series picks the best. They knew how many golfers wanted to cross the line”.

Pamela and Jorge are both of Chilean nationality. Their entire family was born and brought up in the country of Chile.
