Ryan Reaves is a Canadian ice hockey professional currently playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League. Born on January 20, 1987, he was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 5th round (156th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry draft and signed a three-year entry-level contract with them in May 2007.

After his debut, Reaves faced many challenges during his initial days in the NHL. He kept bouncing between AHL and Blues'ECHL affiliate due to a 2007-2008 injury. Despite the challenges, he managed to make his NHL debut on October 11, 2020, and soon scored his first NHL goal against the Anaheim Ducks in January 2011. He kept playing with the St. Louis Blues and was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in June 2017. He showcased his impact in his first season with the Penguins and scored 4 goals and 8 points in 58 games.

His career took another turn when he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights in February 2018. He contributed the winning goal against the Winnipeg Jets and helped the team reach the 2018 Stanley Cup. In the second season with the Golden Knights, he scored his career-high nine goals and 20 points. On July 29, 2021, he joined the New York Rangers and later the Minnesota Wild in 2022. After playing one season with the Minnesota Wild, he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs and signed a three-year contract with them worth $4.05.

Ryan Reaves was born on January 20, 1987, in Winnipeg. He is the son of a former football player in the Canadian Football League Willard Reaves. When he was born Ryan's father was playing for the Winnipeg Blues Bombers. Reaves has two siblings, a brother and a sister. His brother Jordan Reaves is currently playing with the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League.

Reave holds dual citizenship American and Canadian. His great-great-great-grandfather Bass Reeves was a deputy U.S. marshal in Fort Smith and he was the first black lawman west of the Mississippi River. Ryan Reaves is married to Alanna Forsyth who is also an American-Canadian national. Alanna is an interior designer.
