Quinn Hughes is a professional ice hockey defenseman playing for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on October 14, 1999, in Orlando, Florida, he was selected by the Canucks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. However, Hughes decided to return to college and concluded his collegiate hockey career a year later. Hughes entered the NHL by signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks, and made his NHL debut on March 28, 2019, against the Los Angeles Kings. Subsequently, Hughes was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy in the 2019-2020 season for his outstanding performance.

Apart from being nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy, Hughes was named to the All-Rookie Team in 2020 and the NHL All-Star Game in 2020 and 2024. Moreover, he has received the Babe Pratt Trophy four times for his contributions to the Vancouver Canucks in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
