Gulbadin Naib has been adjudged Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: We were in the bottom, were looking for momentum. Lost three on the bounce. Luckily we won the match, another tournament, still a long way to go. Not easy facing these quality bowlers. I gave time to myself, after the drinks break coaching staff said go for it till the end. Told Sikandar to look for the loose balls, let me back my strengths. We talked about it and succeeded. We face Rashid Khan at home, everybody's scared of him. He's (Sowter) a good bowler, cannot give time to them. I said sorry mate, it's part of the game (Hope run out) Shai's a brilliant human being and a great cricketer, I learn a lot from him.

Sikandar Raza (Dubai Capitals captain): We never doubted ourselves at any given point. If I tell you a true story, last year we made it to the finals, but we lost 3-4 in a row. Today I was a lot happy with our bowling and fielding and our attitude, once I saw that in the field I was confident we'd do good with the bat. We thought the wicket was tackier and greener today, it's the second game on this wicket and it was a lot more barren. Thought there was a bit of moisture, knew as long as the ball was new it'll grip and turn. It was turning till the 14th and 15th over, spoke to the other guys and they felt the turn was starting to go away. That's when we realized it's turning flat. We've been feeling Gulli (Naib) is in good form but unfortunately there's so many power-hitters in the team as well. We tried to shuffle the batting today, all the power hitters are in good form. Catching - I thought we caught really well today.

Lockie Ferguson (Desert Vipers captain): Tough one. I think a few runs short but we had some chances with the ball but didn't get that. I think they bowled well but we could have taken it a bit more deep. I can't give in my secret (laughs). I am not sure, we are playing next again Warriorz. We'll freshen up in a couple of days and come stong.

Ben Dunk began in streaky fashion against Amir, edging the first ball of the chase to the third man boundary, but followed that up with another. Lockie Ferguson, though, brought the Vipers into the contest in his very first over, accounting for Ben Dunk and Khalid Shah is quick succession. Gulbadin Naib was sent out at four to score quickly and take the pressure off the hosts, and, well, he did a bit more than that.

Naib braved his luck, was dropped once off Amir but soldiered along nicely. Shai Hope lost his wicket to a lackadaisical piece of running in the final over of the powerplay, but the Capitals went on to gain a good hold of the contest after the first six overs. Nathan Sowter was taken to the cleaners by Naib, slammed for three sixes over the leg side in his second over.

Sowter's second over set the tone nicely for the Capitals going forward. Naib and Raza went on to consolidate, Raza played second fiddle as Naib reached a fine half century at the halfway stage. Just as Raza began breaking free, slamming a half-tracker off Hasaranga in the 14th over, the Zimbabwe international ramped one to the keeper off Mohammad Amir.

The required rate, though, dropped under six quite early in the chase, and it only kept dropping as the slog overs drew in. Some more meaty blows from Gulbadin Naib followed, and the Capitals were home and dry with ample time to spare. Presentations coming up in a short while...
