Pitch looks very dry, it's quite cracked actually but it's solid, it's not really moving around. So I'd expect this pitch to be quite low and skiddy, particularly for the spinners, with the uneven bounce we saw Trinidad in the first semi-final. The average score on this track is 167 batting first!

Commentary

So it will be India vs South Africa in the final at Barbados on June 29. India have marched into the final and will look to clinch their first World title since 2013. South Africa on the other hand is yet to win a World Cup (both ODI and T20). This will be a massive opportunity for them to continue their winning run but India will definitely start as favourites especially after their through domination today. Once they scored 171, it was always going to be a tall order for England and it turned out exactly in the manner the Indian bowlers would have wanted. So after a break tomorrow, we will move to Barbados for the final. Rohit Sharma (Indian captain): Yeah absolutely. Very satisfying to win the game. We have worked really hard as an unit and to win that game was special. We adapted to the conditions very well and that has been our success story. We have played the conditions very well. Very pleasing to see how we came though the game. Look at one stage we felt 140-150 but as the innings went on we got some runs me and Surya. I set a target in my mind but don't tell the batter as I want them to bat freely. I felt 171 was a very good total on the pitch and then the bowlers were fantastic. I think they are gun spinners. When conditions are there for them, it's very difficult to play shots against them. They were calm and knew exactly what to bowl. Try and hit the stumps was the message and that is exactly what they did. I mean look Virat is a quality player. Any player can go through this but we know his class. His form is not a problem. His intent is there and he is probably saving it for the final. Yeah look we have been very calm as a team. We do understand the occasion but for us it's important to stay calm and composed which makes us make hood decisions throughout the 40 overs. I thought we were very steady today which has been the key to our success. When you are composed in your mind, it helps you. We will try our best. The team is in good shape and all I can hope is to put up another good show in the final.

Jos Buttler (England captain): India certainly outplayed us, may be let them get 20-25 runs too many, it was a challenging surface, they played well and they outplayed us, full deserved the win. Two years on, different conditions, credit to India, they played a very good cricket and deserved the win as I said. Obviously with the rain around, probably didn't think it would change much and don't think it really did. They outplayed us, they had an above par score and the toss wasn't the difference between the teams. They've got some fantastic spinners, our guys bowled well too. In hindsight, should've bowled Moeen in that innings, with the way that the spin was playing, they had an above par score with that kind of bowling was always going to be tough. With everything that's happened throughout the tournament, proud of the everyone's efforts to be here. I think we've lot of a adversity throughout the competition, we've stuck together well as a group and played some really good cricket in patches, but came up short when we needed the most.

Axar Patel is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Bowled in the past in the powerplay, the plan was simple with the wicket was bit stopping, bowled in the good areas, didn't try too many things. Wicket is slow, if I bowled quicker, it would've been easier for the batters and bowled slower, worked for me. Our batters told us that it's not easy to hit, it was skidding and keeping low, 170 was always big. (About Rohit and SKY's partnership) That partnership was magnificent, 150 - 160 we thought was a good total and they rotated the strike well with odd boundaries. Not thinking about Barbados now.

If you want revenge, take it like India. After a 10-wicket defeat in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi final against the same opposition, they totally changed their template as a T20 team and the results are there for everyone to see with full interest today. While they were hammered by England in 2022, India returned the complements in 2024. A thoroughly dominating show from the Indian bowlers sees them go through to the final.

They will now meet South Africa in the grand final on Saturday. The target of 172 was always going to be an uphill task and it turned out exactly in the manner the Indian bowlers would have hoped for. After a good over from Arshdeep, Jasprit Bumrah didn't quite find his radar in his first over. Arshdeep went onto concede three boundaries in his second over off Jos Buttler which provided momentum to England in the powerplay. However the introduction of Axar Patel totally turned the tide towards India as wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.

Jos Buttler was the first to as he gloved an attempted reverse sweep straight to Rishabh Pant. It was Bumrah who came back strongly in his second over, deceiving Phil Salt with an immaculate slower delivery. Things started going from bad to worse when Jonny Bairstow was castled by an arm ball from Axar Patel. Harry Brook and Moeen Ali tried to stitch a partnership together but Moeen departed soon after before Kuldeep trapped Sam Curran right in front of the stumps to reduce England to 48/5.

From there on, it was always for a lost cause as far as England were concerned. Harry Brook started taking some chances and found the boundary off Kuldeep Yadav before getting castled attempting another reverse sweep. It was then time for Chris Jordan to get bamboozled by a beautiful leg break from Kuldeep Yadav. Jofra Archer struck some mighty blows but a mishap with Liam Livingstone saw the latter head back to the pavilion without making a significant impact and that was the final nail in the coffin. It was Bumrah who fittingly finished the match off with the wicket of Jofra Archer as India registered a 68 run victory.

A review because...why not! But it's umpire's call on ball tracking and of course, Jasprit Bumrah hammers the final nail into England's coffin to power India into the final. India head to Barbados to face South Africa for the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy!
