Chris Lynn (Player of the Match): Yeah net run rate was important. That is why we took the power surge early. We could have finished it a couple of overs earlier but it is what it is. Yeah that's when Tim Paine has been very good. He has been keeping the boys fresh. Have asked us to not change our game plan. Llyod was whacked early in the piece. It took the Strikers more than 17 overs to get the job done but the damage was already done inside 12 overs when Chris Lynn got out. Because by that time, 116 runs were on the board!

Lynn played a knock for the ages on a tricky batting wicket! He replaced Matthew Short at the top of the order and made the most of this opportunity. The Chris Lynn of old was back in the hot seat tonight, hitting the ball hard on both sides of the wicket and putting the pressure right back on the bowlers.

D'Arcy Short did not score that many, but he gave Lynn good support in a 104-run opening stand in only 11 overs. Chris Lynn was put down by Tim Seifert and Short got away with an LBW case which was not reviewed. But they never let the bowlers off the hook, making the pitch look quite benign.

There was a bit of a slide after the fall of the second wicket and it took the Strikers some time to get to the target. Ollie Pope got dropped by Tim Seifert again, which came at an inappropriate time for the Renegades.

But then, not a lot was left to do and the visitors were able to get to the finish line after losing half their side. This win gives them much needed two points. The fact that they have won without their star player and regular captain Matthew Short, makes it even more special!

The Renegades need to pull up their socks in all three departments come the next game, if they want to make the final four.

17.1 Jacob Bethell to Jamie Overton, that should be game set and match. A flatter trajectory delivery following Overton, thuds onto his pads and trickles away towards the short third man region, takes a leg bye single.
