There's a very bright sun, burst of warmth. This wicket was a bit slow the other night, might quicken up today because it is harder. They might look to take the pace off the ball because the pitch is so dry. Only problem with the spinners is that one of them will have to bowl from the Member's End. That is a really short boundary - around 70-75 meters. Batting down the Member's End towards long on is a longer hit. Good pitch, there's pace, but barely any grass on it. Lovely day for batting, the spinners and the cutters might play their part, reports Mark Nicholas.

Rashid Khan (MICT captain): It was one of the best innings I have seen from Rickelton. It was absolutely amazing the way they carried on the innings. Absolutely a great performance from us. The support from the crowd brings out the best energy from us. I think that's the beauty of this team, so many options with both ball and the bat. Makes my job easier as a captain. Still a long way to go for us. The team looks go and we should carry on the momentum. This bonus point matters a lot and it will come into play if we lose by a close margin later in the tournament.

Faf du Plessis (JSK captain): Feels like one of the performance that's gonna burn. Lot of things went wrong. A bit frustrating. You have to be switched on in the match. We were 15-20 runs short but they batted well. Looking at the wicket now, it played well in the second innings also some bad balls from us. You don't want to get in the momentum to slip down the ladder. In South Africa cricket at the moment, huge number of fast bowlers are getting injured.

Ryan Rickelton has been adjudged Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: Awesome just to get out there given the last week and my hamstring niggle. Bit nervous coming into tonight, wanted to enter the tournament, stoked how it worked out. It's (double hundred for South Africa) has obviously increased my profile but the last year has helped too, raised expectation this season. Some things are expected from me this time. To try and work out how to play tonight was awesome. Really glad how things worked out tonight. I like to think I can hit some big sixes, but in Cape Town you aim low and let them slide up into the sky. Incredible (support). We haven't been too good the first two seasons so to have them behind us is a big thing. You hear them out there, they're our 12th player and we always owe it to them. Really appreciate the crowd coming out for us, it's a special place to play.

What a commanding performance by MI Cape Town! Ryan Rickelton was the star of the show with a scintillating knock of 89 off 39 balls that saw some clean hitting and exceptional intent. MI Cape Town’s openers got off to a flyer, racking up 59 runs in the powerplay, as Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen took full advantage of the field restrictions. However, just as JSK looked for a lifeline with RVD’s run-out early in the 7th over, Rickelton ensured that no momentum was lost.

Rickelton continued his onslaught, supported ably by Reeza Hendricks, who followed up his superb bowling performance (2/7) with a calm and composed 34 off 28 balls*. The defining moment came in the 14th over, when Rickelton smashed 26 runs off Evan Jones, effectively shutting the door on JSK. Though Rickelton fell just 11 runs short of a well-deserved century, the damage was already done. The 92-run partnership with Hendricks ensured MICT sealed the game with nearly four overs to spare, earning a bonus point and reclaiming the top spot on the table.

Earlier, Faf du Plessis had set the tone for JSK with a sparkling 61 off 38 balls, supported by a blistering opening stand with Devon Conway. However, JSK’s innings derailed quickly after Faf’s dismissal, thanks to Hendricks’ golden arm and a middle-order collapse. Jonny Bairstow provided a late flourish with his unbeaten 43 off 27, dragging JSK to a fighting total of 172/5—a score that proved to be at least 20 runs short given the conditions and MICT’s batting might.
