Austin Booker is an American football player who played collegiate football for the Kansas Jayhawks as a redshirt sophomore and declared himself for the 2024 NFL draft. He attended Center Grove High School and helped the team win the 2020 Class 6A Indiana State title. He was a ranked 3-star recruit for Rivals and ESPN.

As a junior, he totaled 67 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and two forced fumbles. Booker continued with his impressive spell in the senior season recording 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. The 6’6, 245-pound defensive end embarked on his collegiate football journey with the University of Minnesota in 2021 over offers from Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, and Nebraska in the Big Ten, along with Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas, Missouri, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt among others.

Booker played two seasons for Minnesota and redshirted his first year with the Gophers. In his second season, he saw limited playing time and managed only six appearances thus entering the NCAA transfer portal in the same year and transferring to Kansas University. His collegiate football career began to thrive with the Jayhawks where he was a force to be reckoned with.

Booker became a full-time starter in his redshirt sophomore season in 2023 playing in 12 games and managing 482 snaps for the Jayhawks. He bagged 39 tackles, and 14 assists, while adding 34 stops and finished the year with 37 total pressures, 26 QB hurries, and a stunning nine sacks. For his stellar performances in his debut campaign for the Jayhawks, Booker bagged the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2023 and was an All-Big 12 first-team honoree.
