In 2011, he enrolled at the University of Arkansas and redshirted that season. He ran in the game-winning 2-point conversion and tossed a then-school record six touchdown passes in a 53-52 overtime victory over Ole Miss in his senior year of 2015. Two weeks later, in a 51-50 loss to Mississippi State, he broke the record with seven touchdowns. Against Mississippi State, he also set a new career passing touchdown record for Arkansas. He had a career total of 26 interceptions, 64 passing touchdowns, and 7,463 passing yards.
