Branson Taylor is a former offensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Panthers. He is a Lorain, Ohio, native and attended Elyria Catholic High School. Taylor joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2020. He played five seasons for the Panthers, appearing in 45 games. As a freshman, he redshirted and played in three games. In 2021, he played in 12 games, mostly on special teams. In 2022, he gained more playing time, playing in all 13 games and starting four at left tackle. The following year, he was a full-time starter, playing in 11 games. He started at right tackle but moved to left tackle due to an injury to a teammate.

In 2024, Taylor was named team captain. He started the first six games at left tackle before suffering a season-ending knee injury against the University of California, as noted on the Pittsburgh Panthers roster. On December 29, 2024, he declared for the NFL Draft on Instagram (@thebransontaylor). At the 2025 NFL Combine, his Next Gen Stats score of 67 ranked 22nd overall among offensive tackles, according to the official NFL website.
