Braxton Berrios is an American football wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. The Patriots selected Berrios as their 210th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Berrios attended Leesville Road High School, where he began his football career. He was a four-star prospect by ESPN and Rivals and a three-star ranking by 247Sports. Due to his amazing performance, Berrios was named to the 2014 Under Armour All-America Game. He started his collegiate career with the University of Miami in 2014.
As a freshman in 2014, Berrios played 12 games while starting four and recording three touchdowns and 20 catches for 218 yards. He recorded his first career touchdown against Arkansas State and recorded a 33-yard catch. As a sophomore in 2015, he suffered from an early season injury that forced him to miss nearly three full games. One of the major highlights from his sophomore year was his 60-yard carry as the Hurricanes’ longest rush of the season. In 2016, as a junior, Berrios played 13 games and made three starts at wide receiver. Berrios's senior year was his breakthrough year, where he recorded 55 receptions and nine receiving touchdowns. Due to his amazing performance, he was selected as the recipient of ACC’s Jim Tatum Award, which was given to the conference’s top scholar-athlete in 2017. He also earned third-team All-ACC honors at wide receiver and All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition for contributions on special teams the same year.
